Silk Scarf Care
Art to wear, with a little thoughtful care. Our silk scarf care recommendation is simple: dry clean.
Cleaning your scarf
Our silk scarves are recommended for professional dry cleaning, as noted in our FAQ and silk scarf care descriptions. Hand washing and delicate machine cycles are not alternatives to this recommendation. Bring your scarf to a professional cleaner experienced with silk, and share the care label before cleaning.
Detergent and drying
Because our guidance is to dry clean, we do not recommend a home-washing detergent or a home-washing and drying routine. Leave cleaning and drying to your professional cleaner. Do not tumble dry.
Folding and storage
Handle your scarf gently, especially around jewelry or rough surfaces that could catch the silk. Fold loosely without pulling or pressing the edges. Store clean and completely dry, in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight. Allow room rather than packing it tightly among other items.
Spills and stains
Do not rub, scrub, or experiment with household stain removers. Take the scarf to a professional silk cleaner and explain what caused the mark, when it happened, and whether anything has already been applied. Stain removal cannot be guaranteed.
